The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has stated the mother and father of kids convicted for cultism can even face punitive measures, Newspremises reviews.
Sanwo-Olu acknowledged this on Thursday throughout the Kids’s Day celebration on the Police School, Ikeja, addressing pupils and college students.
He acknowledged that a new legislation had been signed to struggle cultism, including that oldsters should be alive to their obligations by listening to the ethical upbringing of their kids.
Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, stated, “The brand new legislation towards cultism prescribes punitive measures for fogeys of younger individuals convicted of cultism. Dad and mom must be vigilant and monitor their kids.”
“We owe them an obligation to make sure that their desires and aspirations are realised via steady coaching, steerage and mentoring.”
