Open Grazing Ban: Governor Bala Mohammed Warns Colleagues, Nigeria’s Elite

Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed on Monday instructed his colleagues and the elites in Nigeria to tread with warning over the ban on open grazing.

He spoke on the ongoing 2021 Annual Convention of the Nigerian Bar Affiliation (NBA) – Part on Public Curiosity and Growth Legislation (SPIDEL) in Ibadan.

Mohammed stated although he was not against the prohibition “the child should not be thrown away with the dangerous water”.

The governor noticed that open grazing was a type of occupation to some ethnic teams.

He stated the ban have to be performed in a persuasive method that may be useful to the herders, farmers and merchants.

“We, the elites, have to be very cautious, to not arrange our individuals which have been residing in peace towards one another.

“We should information our utterances as governors, legal professionals and each different career. Disintegration may cause a variety of humanitarian crises which are unimaginable.”

Mohammed suggested Nigerians to dialogue to make sure the safety scenario within the nation doesn’t worsen.
